Hana’s Story
Hana was eleven when she was kidnapped from a back street in Caracas. The gang thought her parents were wealthy enough to pay their ransom. However, her family simply could not afford their demands. So she was then sold to The Conglomerado for a quarter of what the gang had originally wanted. Unlike Jeminia and Aria, Hana’s journey was far longer. It lasted weeks and in that time, Hana was moved between three containers, once on board a ship at sea and twice on land at ports in countries she had no idea of. Sometimes she was fed daily – sometimes they missed a couple of days – not that she could really eat or keep it down. In each container there were tapped drums of water which, thankfully, lasted the entire journey. The small, portable toilets on the other hand were never emptied and the smell alone made the terrible sea sickness she had utterly crippling. Sometimes she had company.
The Long and Crippling journey
Other girls were brought in – mostly one or two – and they all had to share one damp, filthy mattress. Then they would be taken somewhere else and Hana would be alone again. Not that she remembered much of this time as she was too ill. Moreover, her mind had almost completely shut down out of sheer panic and fright. Thus, she slept through most of this hell with her short wakeful moments being filled with little more than dry retching and tears. The passage of time, to her, was unknowable except that it seemed an eternity – but that eternity came to an end when the container door was finally thrown open with a crash so loud she screamed. They dragged her kicking, by her hair, and threw her into the back of a sealed van. Hana’s final destination was an old, abandoned theatre run by a man simply known as ‘The Gazda’ ( The Boss ) who, in turn, was under the employ of The Konglomerat.
The Grand Icon Gentlemens Club
The Boss often received new girls who were too sick to undergo his ‘conditioning’. So, he gave her a few days to rest and be tended to by the others. Two things Hana would remember from this time – most of them were even younger than her. And when she would try to ask them questions, they would put a finger to their mouths or whisper something urgent in a language she didn’t understand. She would soon learn that there were cameras, some hidden, some in plain sight, everywhere. These cameras could also hear them – and hear them well. Much later on, she found out that the cameras had been installed after an incident where Jeminia lost an eye while attacking one of the clientelle. Jeminia would often brag about this to Hana ( Aria knew a little bit of spanish so she was able to translate ), insisting that, “The Kopile je to zaslužilo!!!” ( The bastard had it coming!!! ). She also took great pleasure at grossing out the others by plopping a black crystal orb out of her eye socket to show it off. “Moja nagrada!!” ( My reward ) she boasted with a smile as perfidious as the very glint in that dark orb. And then the hardening began until Hana, desecrated, defiled and numbed, was finally broken. And so she was put to work.
Let’s you and I get her out of there!
Yes – this is an entirely fictional story about an entirely fictional girl and an entirely fictional entity. However, it is also TRUE. It is happening SOMEWHERE – it could be ANYWHERE. According to an estimate by the U.N.I.L.O. ( United Nations International Labor Organization ) 507,540 children are sexually trafficked each year. Moreover, this is not just happening in war torn nations or third world countries – there are many modern well-to-do western democracies which are EQUALLY as culpable. And here is where this poster of young Hana comes into being. For every one of these we sell, we pledge the profit to Child Rescue New Zealand. They are an active, sleeves up, boots on the ground charity that work tirelessly, at every level, to rescue these kids.
